Loving Life

18 04 2009

If you know me, you know that 2006 to late 2007 could pretty much be summed up in one word: Crap. Lousy.

I’m sorry if the “C” word offends you, but that one fits better.

Our family had a rough couple of years.  We lived in “Crisis Mode.”  We spent the better part of two years mad and running from God, hiding from family and friends, and completely miserable.  We (Mostly I)  lived off the adrenaline that surged from crisis to crisis.

Once we got our lives where they needed to be, (read: fully surrendered to Christ) things started to fall into place.  Now, we are in a good place in life.  Ministry is awesome.  I love Jesus more today than I ever have.  Our family is getting healthy spiritually, emotionally, and financially… it is amazing.

Here’s the only catch: Sometimes in the midst of everything, I find myself “waiting for the other shoe to drop.”  We lived in crisis mode for so long that I keep thinking “ok, something bad is going to happen any day now” or “this is too good to be true! Life can’t really be this peaceful, right?”

I guess we really understand now what Paul meant in Philippians 4:7 when he talked about the “peace that passes all understanding.”

God is good.
